The 1891 Census of England and Wales
The 1891 Census of England and Wales was taken on the evening of Sunday 5th April 1891 with all persons recorded in the residence in which they spent the night (rather than their home address if they were staying elsewhere).

Census returns from the 1891 census for individuals of the surname Jacomb, including the standard variants Jacombs, Jacombe, Jacom and Jacomb-Hood, and also miss-spellings/transcriptions which have been spotted are provided on Jacomb.com.

Errors in misspellings have been identified in a number of instances. On analysis of these populations and study of the Civil Registration indexes it appears that neither census contains the full complement of Jacombs & variants that it should do. Over time, however, Jacomb.com aims to identify where these errors are and locate the missing individuals.

The census returns are indexed by county (under the boundaries as they were in 1891). Those counties without a hyperlink do not have any entries for the name Jacomb or its possible variations.
